In my idiom, the methods of interrogating a narrative or work of art. Related to literary criticism, art criticism, critical theory. In certain ways it's certainly related to [[empirical method]], the use of judgement and reason being important to both. The major difference for me is that in critical method, the conversation within a community is both the [[telos]] and the evidence, whereas in empirical method, the conclusion drawn from the evidence is the telos.
