Haiku is a computer operating system under current development. It's based on the defunct BeOS operating system from the 90s. It's tightly integrated and does a lot of things cleanly, efficiently, and simply. It generally runs fine on both old and brand new hardware, and generally has software to do all the things you need.
If you've ever used Linux and been unhappy with the software that is *not* available for it, then Haiku is probably not for you. It has a web browser (really, it has several) but it doesn't have Firefox, Chrome, etc. It has document processing, but doesn't have Microsoft Office. The thing it does have is modern security updates and several nice pieces of software. Give it a shot if you want.
