Hello!
My name is Sam Drake. This is my Digital Garden. A Digital Garden is a place to wander and discover, more than a Blog, which is much more linear in nature. I have a non-linear brain, and the goal of a Digital Garden is to enable seeds to grow and eventually bear fruit over time.
I am available on a freelance basis as a research assistant and I'd be very excited to work with you. Please drop me a line at sam *at* samdrake.co
You can navigate the site via the hamburger menu on the top left of the screen, if you want to see the way the file structure of this site works. You can also navigate this site via links, which would be more in the vibe of the Digital Garden thing.
I do write long form [[Blog Posts]] from time to time, and those are archived on the Blog Posts page. They are dated at the top of the post, and on the Blog Posts page. I often edit these after the fact. Some are more evergreen than others.
I also have a shorter blog series called [[Formation Fridays]] that also has an accompanying series of short form videos. More info on that page.
My [[Book Reviews]] page has two things. First is a link to my BookWyrm profile, which is like Goodreads but not run by Amazon. Second is a list of books that I took notes on for reasons.
In the hamburger menu is a folder for Pages, where you'll find all the front-of-section pages. You'll also see a folder labelled "topics." These pages are typically linked to from inside other pages, and are like Wikipedia pages where the major source is typically my brain or my opinions. If I've actually researched a topic in particular, you'll see my citations there for my own reference. The majority of it is just my take on something.
If you're interested, I have an [[AI or LLM Usage Policy]] you can read. The one sentence version is I don't use LLMs to write, draft, research, break down or digest anything ever.
